I've been super busy this week! I stopped into a local shop that takes items on consignment (it's a gorgeous little store, filled with some beautiful stuff.) However, she had only one lonely doll on her shelf.
I chatted with her a bit, and she's going to come to market on Sunday to see the sort of things I make, and what she thinks could fit into her shop.
In addition to the Punk Rock Girl dolls, and the sock monkeys, I make traditional dolls too. So, I'm pretty excited at the prospect of having somewhere to show my work during fall and winter. (You know, aside from Etsy, which I love and adore.) Here are some pics of the latest.

Oh Summer, I adore you.
Good Morning! It's a WONDERFUL day!
My pixies have been taken over night by my mother. The slept over last night, will stay all day today, and will be back tomorrow. It feels like a Saturday in my world.
Not to say I don't miss them, but I am getting SO much done! Yesterday I listed a pile of new stuff on Vintage Witch, summer jewellery that I hadn't had a chance to get to for the few weeks of summer we've had. Sea shell necklaces, that can be worn as is, or dismantled and put into your OWN crafty projects! Favourites for on the beach. Remember these?
AND, my teenager and I finally finished taking down the entire crunched shed. (One of those metal ones. It was 10 x 10', and crushed by the weight of the snow. This winter we assumed that the other had taken care of shovelling the roof off. )
Today, I've got a list of things I want to get to. The basement needs attention (it becomes a dumping ground for crafting things and piles of laundry.) There's laundry that demands to be hung (if I can get it on and off the line before it rains.) I also have a new doll that needs details, some scrabble tile pendants that need done, half a knit-loom hat to finish, a crocheted bag that needs a liner, some chunky hemp necklaces... on and on!
It's a completely different vibe with just the Big Tall Boy and I at home.
Yay for feeling energetic and getting things done!!!!

An Alice of My Own
This is my Alice!
I found the doll at the Thrift Store, mostly clean and completely naked. After a bit of research, I found out she was a "Hot Looks" doll by Mattel , and put her with the rest of my crafty storage.
After watching the Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland movie, I knew what I wanted to do with my found doll - create an Alice of my own! It's taken me a month of thinking to figure out how I was going to do it.
Eyelet lace, some vintage cream lace, new blue ribbon, some random pieces of blue lining, and a cafe curtain. I had no pattern for a doll her size, but ad-libbed the pieces based on a different doll dress pattern, and made up the rest as I went.
The stuffed body is wired and posable, which is nice. She stands on her own, if she's got something to lean on.
I'm not sure I'll ad anything else. I'm going to let her stand next to the compute monitor for a few days, and see if she decides she needs anything. I like her shoeless. When Alice shrunk, she would have been too small for her shoes anyway.
What do you think?
I'll be offering her on Etsy, as soon as I'm sure she's finished.

The Hot and Stephen King
It has been
TOO hot to think.
Too. Hot. To. Think.
I kid you not.
Dark Tower 01 Gunslinger and the rest came out. I don't tend to like series', so I stopped looking, assuming every book thereafter MAY be smack dab in the middle of a story I'm not familiar with.TOO hot to think.
Too. Hot. To. Think.
I kid you not.
I will pay an exorbitant amount in hydro this month, I'm sure, with the HST pushing things around, coupled with how button happy I've been with the air conditioner. And the fans.
I've done not a heck of a lot the last two days. I finished a Stephen King book, Hearts In Atlantis
that I started 2 days ago. I haven't read a Stephen King since sometime in High School, when the

But, it is summer. And, it is HOT. And, after I do my email rounds for my online businesses, I have been parking my butt on the couch, or at the table while the pixies eat.
I've also been reading and doing a bit more studying... I've been having the craziest dreams lately, but I seem to have fallen out of touch with being able to be lucid in them. So, I'm revisiting some old favourites.
Still, it's hot outside.
I'm not complaining... I'm just sayin'....
