But yeah, the whole season of giving thing.. It sets people up for failure because it's read as giving material things rather than simply being generous of heart. It becomes a tallying competition. And it is SO HARD not to fall into that trap, especially when you have kids. I'm trying to cut own on the amount of material things I feel compelled to provide, and spend more of the remaining months of the year providing memories and experiences. But I still look under my tree and feel like an asshole for not spoiling them, even though I know in the long run it's better. <br /><br />Oh and as for Santa?
